The Mario’s Story

At Mario’s, we serve authentic Italian food, including pizza, pasta entrees, salads, subs, appetizers, and even desserts. While we have roots in the Triad today, we took a culinary journey to get here, starting all the way back in Italy. Our family developed delicious recipes in Calabria, which is located at the toe of Italy’s boot shape. This region is the second largest producer of olive oil in the world and renowned for it’s pizza. It’s our heritage that our family brought to the United States.

Our family originally settled in Brooklyn and made authentic New York style pizza there. Then, over 40 years ago, we decided to move to beautiful North Carolina. Brothers Vinny, Mario and Tony opened their first Mario’s Pizza on the coast in 1981 and later decided to bring the taste of Italy to the Triad. Today, we operate nine Mario’s locations in not only High Point, but also Greensboro, Clemmons, and Winston-Salem, as well as our sister restaurant Tony’s Pizza with locations in the Charlotte area.
