Although many Italian dishes have changed, some foods are still very similar to the originals. Ravioli has been a popular dish in Italy since the 14th century. Back then, families served this dish in a broth. When 16th-century explorers brought tomatoes from the New World, Italians began serving them in tomato sauce.
