When someone talks about the style of a pizza, people usually think of one of two things: New York style pizza or Chicago style pizza. In actuality, pizzas vary greatly in many regions, but the difference between New York pizza and Chicago pizza is style.
New York style pizza is flat with a thinner chewy yet crispy crust. It doesn’t have a super doughy crust like some other thinner pizzas. Traditionally, it has a red tomato sauce, shredded cheese, and other optional toppings. This kind of pizza is perfect for eating on the go, since you can pick up a huge slice, fold it, and eat it as you are walking down the street.
On the other hand, Chicago style pizza is a very thick pizza also known as “deep dish.” This type of pizza has a chunkier sauce, with cheese and other toppings layered on the bottom and sauce on top. The edge is higher, like a fruit pie crust, and you often have to eat this kind of pizza with a fork rather than just grabbing a slice.

We’ve handed our recipes down through the generations, all the way from Italy. Originally, our family operated a pizzeria in Brooklyn before coming to the North Carolina coast and then later moving inland to the Triad region. We don’t need New York water to make a great pizza.
It’s not just about the ingredients. We also use traditional cooking methods for our pizzas. And, like any good New York pizza, our toppings go all the way to the edge of the pie. We make sure every pizza is loaded with flavor.
